With ‘Valley Low’, southern Gothic chanteuse Betty Black invites listeners into her world where vivid transfixing narratives and contagious melodies laced with psychedelic rock, ‘60’s pop exotica, gritty electro-pop and dark post-punk beckon you down the rabbit hole. Produced by Sylvia Black and co-produced by Rudyard Lee Cullers (Yeah Yeah Yeahs/ Basement Jaxx/James Iha), the set includes singles “Come Back Lover”, Heartless” and the tripped-out title track alongside fiery rockers “Black Car” and “Baby Loves His Gun”, and the sultry tranquilized ballad “Drive”.
— Think Ronnie Spector and The Cramps meet Siouxsie and the Banshees, Ennio Morricone and The Raveonettes —
BETTY BLACK is the brainchild of singer/songwriter, bassist and producer, Sylvia Black (aka Sylvia Gordon) who’s gained international acclaim as the former lead vocalist, producer, and songwriter for dark electronic pop outfit KUDU and for her successful co-writes/collaborations with Moby, The Knocks, Black Eyed Peas, Télépopmusik, Spank Rock Official and Santigold, William Orbit, RUN DMT, Benny Benassi and The Noisettes, which have amassed sales over 5 million units worldwide!
